Beach Cuties!

After a full day at Sea World we drove to Ft Myers Beach to spend a few days. We met Judy there and were also able to see Uncle Tommy, lots of Judy's friends and also the Orban's. We packed tons of fun into three days! We spent many hours at the beach and pool and also enjoyed good food, ice cream and nice walks. The boys really enjoyed the beach. It's funny how things change so dramatically from year to year. Drew didn't have any interest in the ocean last year and was content playing in a huge tub of water with toys under the umbrella. This year he loved the ocean, spending his beach time frolicking in the shallow water and searching for fish with a net. He also collected lots of shells and wanted to play in the sand. David really liked the sand too which proved to be a little hard to manage. He wasn't content on the blanket but would rather crawl off to get a fist full of sand. Then he would stick it in his mouth of course. We also had a blast at the pool. David floated around in his raft and had a ball splashing water. Drew really impressed us with his swimming skills and learned to tread water. We had such a great time with the boys!
Drew enjoying a beautiful day at the beach.
Barb with a very sleepy David. The Orban's spent a day with us at the beach. It was great to see them and catch up!

David fell asleep on Rog's shoulder. So sweet.

David was fascinated with the mirrored TV stand in the condo. He knows a handsome face when he sees one :)
David loved the feel of the sand.

Getting a closer look!
Lovin' the pool too!
George and Drew spent a lot of time in the pool. Drew's swimming really improved!

Sea World!

We returned late Sunday night, actually it was very early on Monday morning, from an eight day trip to Florida. We had an absolute blast and the boys were perfect angels the entire time! We left on a Sunday and drove to Orlando, arriving late in the evening. We got a hotel room not too far from Sea World with plans to head there first thing in the morning. Drew gathered as many brochures from the lobby as he could carry and enjoyed browsing through them in the hotel bed. George ran out and picked up dinner and a six pack of beer (love my hubby!) since we decided it was too late to drag the boys out to eat. We slept in a little later than intended but were at the park by 10:30. We all had a great time! Sea World has always been a favorite of mine and it seems that the boys have followed suit. The weather was nice, not too hot and not too cold. We did get stuck in the dolphin exhibit for a while during a rain storm but other than that it was a perfect day. I will let the many, many pictures below tell the rest of the story of our trip to Sea World...
Drew helps with our bags! We were not traveling light!

Arriving at the park. Drew had his map and was headed for the first show!
Racing to see the dolphin/whale show.

Waiting for it to start.
Moving on to the Shamu Show. We had great seats at all of the shows, close enough to see every little thing but high enough to avoid the soak zone!

David was mesmerized by the entertainment!

Stopping for a quick pic.
A nice lady offered to take a picture of all four of us. It was a good thing because this is the only family photo we took in all eight days!
Checking out the sharks, one of Drew's favorite exhibits. I wish you could hear him! His narration is priceless.

Posing in front of the manatees, one of my favs!

Cutie!

This is where we spent over half an hour. We were watching the dolphins when the heavy rain came so we stuck around until it tapered off. A lady doing the same thing gave Drew a penguin stuffed animal that she had won minutes earlier. It was very sweet and made Drew's day. She kept watching Drew and smiling at him and then approached me to ask if she could give him the penguin. The penguin has now joined platty and sheepy making it the third lovey.

Petting the stingrays, another big hit!

Drew doing his flamingo impression! This was completely his idea and totally cracked us up!

Being a polar bear! David fell asleep in the stroller right before we went to the Arctic exhibit and strollers weren't allowed so Drew and I did this section by ourselves.
Still smiling while heading to the car after a fun-filled day!
We drove to Ft Myers Beach on Monday night after Sea World. Pictures from that portion of our trip to come.

Random Photos

Not much has been going on since Easter. April just seems to be flying by! Me-Ma came to visit over the weekend to help us with the boys. George and I were part of a group that hosted a couples baby shower and we didn't have any luck finding a sitter. That's the problem with neighborhood events! Judy was a huge help with the boys and of course they were thrilled to see her! I have a few pictures from the last week...

David passed up plenty of his own toys while heading for Drew's sword! He grabbed the handle and was swinging it around, loving every second of it!
Enjoying some toys of his own.

Tuckered out after a big lunch!

Me-Ma and David.

First bath together!

Drew shared his bath toys very nicely.

Hi cuties!

David destroyed Drew's pirate ship and was very proud of himself!

Easter

David watching his dancing/singing chicks.
Drew reaching for the helmet. That was his favorite part because it had "Hot fire!" on it.

We had a very nice Easter. The boys loved the goodies in their Easter baskets! Drew got some Spider man things, including a book, stickers and place mat from the dollar bin at Target (gotta love the dollar bins at Target!) and also a bicycle! We've been wanting to get Drew a bike but were waiting for an occasion. Since his birthday falls so close to Christmas, the Easter bunny decided to be very generous. The funny and kind of sad part is, he isn't wild about the bike. It's the exact one he wanted, just larger. He thinks it's too big and says, "That's a cool bike, I'll use it when I get bigger." It really hurt the Easter bunny's feelings, aka George. Drew rode it a little bit on Sunday but was pretty scared. He has been borrowing a 10" bike but measures for a 16" so that is what we bought. Guess he will just continue to use the borrowed bike until he's ready for the larger one. In the meantime, it will collect dust in the garage and George will continue to pout :) Aunt Mary and Uncle Ralph invited us and the Watson's over for lunch on Sunday afternoon. What a spread! It was like Thanksgiving! Mae Mae and cousin Mel are wonderful cooks and we really enjoyed the delicious meal they prepared!

Being tickled by Drew on Easter morning.

Being spoiled by sweet cousin Melanie! She held David most of the time, unless Drew insisted that she play with him. She's popular!

Hunting for eggs in Mae Mae's living room. Drew and Whitley had about a dozen egg hunts there! We just kept doing it over and over because it was such great entertainment for them (and us!). Whenever Drew hid the eggs, he would point them out to the finders before they could even look.

Checking out Mae's Mae's talking bunny.

Being sweet and precious!

On the Move

Sweet David is on the move! He really moves fast when he sees something he wants, which is usually something he's not supposed to have!

More Easter Fun

We are enjoying a nice Easter weekend. Last night we had a relaxing evening at home after a busy day. We dyed eggs which proved to be really fun. Drew was into it. He made one for all of our family including David, Me-Ma, Day Day and CC. It was cute to watch him decide what color each person would like. Today we picked up the Watson's at the airport after their week in Florida and enjoyed hanging out with them for a couple of hours. Drew and Whitley were so happy to see each other! After nap time we went to a little get-together in the neighborhood. Some friends offered to put up their inflatable water slide since the weather was so warm. Drew remembered it from the 4th of July party and couldn't wait to wake up and go. The weather wasn't as warm as we hoped so Drew was shivering constantly as he repeatedly went up and down the slide. The one time we made him take a break to warm up he sat in a chair all wrapped up in a towel repeating, "Please let me go again, I want to be cold sooooo bad!" It was pretty funny through chattering teeth. Drew just never wants the fun to stop! David sat on a blanket and played with toys while also enjoying the entertainment of watching the wild kids.
Dying Easter eggs

Drew was so bored waiting for the eggs to get bright. He just said, "Uggh! Come on eggs!" and then put his head on the counter.

It's ready!

David enjoying another beautiful day.

Drew was super excited about the water slide!

Good Friday

We had a wonderful Good Friday! Some Mom's in the neighborhood organized an egg hunt at the park and we had a good time enjoying the fun and sun. Somebody brought sports eggs and Drew was super excited about that. I watched him bypass numerous eggs and wondered what in the world he was doing and then I realized he was racing for the football egg. Each kid was allowed to get 12 eggs but Drew didn't want 12, he stopped hunting when the sports eggs were gone. At least that meant less candy for him (or me!) to eat. He was really pumped when he came across a real baseball that somebody must have lost at the park! He carried it around all day with him. David was in awe of all of the commotion at the park. He kicked his little legs and pumped his arms the whole time, just itching to join the fun! It won't be long!
Drew sits with all the ladies as the three and under crowd gets ready for the hunt!
David was passed around to lots of Mom's, they all wanted to hold him :)

Drew with the real baseball.
Drew sitting at the big boys table for lunch. He thought everything the 8 year old boys did was fantastic and they were very sweet to him.

David enjoying all of the craziness.

Laughing at the silly big kids!
