I was going to do a weekend blog but now it's already Wednesday night so I better include some things from this week as well. I had eight friends spend the night Saturday for a girls weekend. We had a great time playing games, going out to eat and getting tons of laughs. I'm already looking forward to next time! George and Drew spent the night at a friends house and had a great time as well. On Sunday they went to Pump It Up for Lauren's (our neighbor that I've mentioned on the blog before) 6th birthday. Drew had a blast and George came home sweating! Drew told me all about the party when he got home but he was so excited that the only words I could understand were, "slide, jump and Blake (his idol that lives behind us)." On Monday Drew and I went to McDonald's so he could play since the weather is still pretty poor. Unfortunately there were quite a few bullies there so we didn't stay long. I was so proud of Drew though because when two kids started bullying him he said "Bad friends!" and walked away. Luckily, their Mom saw them hitting Drew and punished them unlike the parents of another little snot which were no where to be found. That always amazes me! When I take Drew to public play areas I never let him out of my sight. After McDonald's we went to get the car washed and Drew had a blast playing with the Thomas the Train collection. A few people commented on how talkative Drew was. I swear he learns 10 news words everyday! On Tuesday we went to the library for toddler time and then to a neighbor's house for a play group. When we got home Judy was here and Drew was thrilled to see her! Today we went to Winter Wiggles and Drew was an excellent student. I get such a kick out of watching him follow instructions. He loves nothing more than to pick up all of the supplies after an activity! That's about it for our week so far. Judy will be here until Friday and then my Mom comes back to watch Drew while George and I go on a trip. We've had a ski trip planned for a year and although I'm not going to ski, I'm looking forward to relaxing, reading, going to the spa and eating out!
With friends at dinner during our girls weekend.

Using the drill in Grandma's mouth! Maybe there's Dental School in Drew's future.

Playing shop with Daddy.

Christmas in January! Judy brought a present for Drew from some family in New Jersey and sweet Drew let Bailey open it! I love how his hands are tucked to his chest like he knows better than to put them near Bailey's mouth!

A Loooooong Weekend

Our weekend started off so good! My dear cousin Jamie flew in from Memphis to visit us and the Watson's. I have been looking forward to her arrival for so long! She's so amazing with kids and Drew loved her instantly. We enjoyed a yummy dinner and lots of cookies on Friday night and then hung out and had a good time chatting and catching up. On Saturday we went to my sister's house and had fun playing with Drew and Whitley. Jamie stayed the night with Cristie on Saturday night and we had plans to get together right away on Sunday. Unfortunately, Sunday ended up being a terrible day. George and I are expecting another baby and I started bleeding on Sunday morning. The on-call doctor instructed me to go to the emergency room to check on the baby. After a few miserable hours we found out that Baby Davis's heart was still beating strongly! What a relief! So, that wasn't how we planned on letting family and friends know I was pregnant but we are thrilled to share the news that I'm about 12 weeks along and due August 9th. Our wonderful neighbor, Sharma, watched Drew on Sunday morning until Cristie and Jamie could get there to take over. We were so happy to get home and see Drew, Jamie, Cristie and Whitley! Jamie and Cristie were very helpful and did everything for Drew that evening. What a sister and cousin! Then on Monday we had to say farewell so sweet Jamie and CC came to the rescue like she always does! The Doctor recommended rest so CC came to help me with Drew and because she was worried about us. I was supposed to see my regular physician as soon as possible but Monday was MLK day and Tuesday we woke up to snow! What luck! Pretty much the entire area shut down, including the medical office, so we had to wait one more day to check on Baby Davis again. It wasn't easy! I'm sure everyone but us was thrilled with the extended weekend. The office had a delayed opening Wednesday due to icy roads but got me in as soon as they opened. Another ultrasound showed a movin' and grovin' baby! They can't explain the blood and we all hope it was just a scare, not that we needed one in order to worry! I don't have to be on bed rest or anything extreme like that but I will be taking it easy. Please keep Baby Davis in your thoughts and prayers; we want nothing more than a baby brother or sister for Drew! Thanks to Jamie, Cristie, Sharma and CC for all of your help! Love you!
Drew shares his Cars chair with Jamie, I knew he loved her because he doesn't share his chair with many!
Sweet, sweet, sweet Jamie!!!

Drew with the baby stroller and Whitley with the princess car. On your mark, get set, go!!! They ran around the house and chased each other for quite some time!

Big kiss!
Cousins!

Getting ready to go play outside with CC and George. We had to borrow boots from the girls next door!

"CC's turn," as Drew says.
Drew enjoying his first of two ice creams at Jason's Deli! He was shaking from the cold and got two brain freezes but that didn't stop him from saying "More cream?"

Animal Sounds

I know it's not that impressive for a two year old to immitate animal sounds but I still wanted to share these cute videos of Drew. I've been trying to get it on video for months but he always grabs the camera (like you will see in Part 2) and I end up getting a "Moooo" mixed with "Mine! My picture!" I was able to get most of them recorded today so I'm finally posting a video...

Cheap Thrills!

We had a busy week catching up from the holidays and getting back to our routine. It was a rainy week so we stayed busy indoors. We went to the mall twice to play and eat there and also went to a couple of play groups. George's beloved Godmother passed away so it was also a sad week. Aunt Mary will be missed dearly! George traveled to New Jersey over the weekend for the funeral and Drew missed him terribly. We were thrilled when he returned yesterday but then had to drop him off at the airport today for a business trip :( I'm not sure what made Drew more upset, the fact that we didn't pick up CC and Day Day (our usual reason for airport trips) or the fact that George got out of the car with a suitcase. I felt so bad for Drew so I took him to the observation park to check out the planes. Boy, did he love it there! He talked non-stop about the flying planes to anyone that would listen. He would yell, "Faster, faster" when planes sped down the runway during take off. It was really cute and I plan to take him back now that I know it's such a hit!
Whitley and Drew coming through a tunnel at the mall play area.
Getting ready to come down the slide.

Sitting like a big boy at the table with his new place mat from the dollar bin at Target. It has sea creatures all over it and he is compelled to name each one before he even thinks about touching his food..."Mama, big whale! Mama, baby fish! Mama, crab!" You get the gist!

I need to get a fish place mat for myself because it's obviously really, really exciting! Talk about cheap thrills!

The only bad thing about Drew sitting in a regular chair is that he won't sit still. I can't even count how many times I said, "Bottom in the seat!" It was the longest dinner ever!

Back in the Swing of Things...

Drew and I started back to our normal routine today; we got out of bed before ten (I was really getting used to our holiday schedule of getting up late and watching TV while having breakfast in bed), went to a playgroup, and then did our errands. We are looking forward to getting back into our routine of playgroups, toddler time at the library and even a new class I signed him up for, Winter Wiggles, at a local community center. It promises to be a fun-filled hour of music, arts, crafts and education. Drew enjoys just about anything so I'm sure we'll have fun. Here's a few pictures from the last few days...
Drew in the helicopter at the mall's new play area.
Another play area picture.

Thirsty Drew carries all three drinks (milk, water and juice) to the table.

Then he continued to carry them around just because he thought it was fun to balance them in his arms.

Helping me sweep up a mess from the Christmas decorations after putting them away. Drew is always such a big helper!

Happy New Year!

Happy 2009! I hope the new year brings good health and happiness to all of you! We've been busy the last few days. On Tuesday night we went to dinner with our neighbors and had a wonderful evening. The food was superb and the company was fantastic! Drew was thrilled to see his favorite babysitter, Jillian, and so was Bailey. On New Years Eve we went to a party at our neighbor's home and Jillian watched Drew again. It was so nice to be only a few doors away and walk home after the festivities. The weather has been chilly the last couple of days so we've been doing lots of lounging around the house. Some of us (well, just me) didn't even get out of our pj's yesterday. Drew has been having a blast though thanks so all of his new birthday and Christmas toys. Happy New Year!
Drew got a Par 3 golf course for his birthday (Thanks Barb and Roger!) and has been begging to use it. The weather wasn't cooperating so I set it up in the bonus room and we've all enjoyed "dolfing," as Drew says it.
