Big change for David this weekend! We took the front off of his crib so it's a little toddler bed now. We surprised him with it when he came home from school on Friday. He's been so precious about it! There wasn't any reason why we decided to bite the bullet and go for it this weekend. Sweet little David has loved his crib, never trying to climb out, but we wanted to beat him to it. We didn't have any big plans this weekend so figured it may be a good time to try in case there was any trouble. Luckily it was as smooth as can be. He's gone right to sleep both nights and for both naps too. Sometimes you just never know what is going to be a big deal and what is not. In the process of making some changes in his room, we decided to get rid of the glider that's been in there. Uh oh. I put it on Craigslist and someone called to take a look today. David was napping so I quietly pulled it out into the hallway. The guy who came to see it decided to purchase it. When David woke up a little while later the first thing he said was "Where my chair go????" He was not happy. It didn't occur to me that he would care about the chair. I felt so bad for him that I immediately promised to go get him a new chair (something I was going to do anyway but maybe not that instant). He continued to cry saying he wanted "
that chair" and accused an imaginary girl of taking it. "Her bring my chair back now!" So, what did we do? We loaded up the family and headed to the mall to get David a new chair. He tried them all out, not caring one bit that they were identical except for the color. He decided on the rhino one which was a great choice since his room is working a little animal theme. Other than the bed and chair news, we had a great weekend doing a bunch of nothing. The boys were thrilled to just play at home. I've noticed that since they spend so much time at school now during the week that they really enjoy playing at home when they have the chance. Drew can go in his room and play for hours and hours. David joins him sometimes but is also content to play by himself or with me. George and I did lots of little projects around the house this weekend and just high-fived each other as we slumped on the couch to get comfy for the Academy Awards.
David and "lovey" are deciding whether or not to try out the new bed.
He likes it!
Room for Drewby too!
Tucked in and ready for the first night. He did great. He slept all night and didn't wander his room at all.
I checked on him before going to bed. Had to fix his position of course but was happy to see him all snugly.
Drew's "American party." Wow. That kid has some serious toys. I was amazed at the detail he put into setting up the party. Can you see the Lego's he placed on top of the bear on the dresser? Or all the figurines lined up just-so along the edge of the castle table? I want to brag on Drew by sharing what a great cleaner upper he is. He may pull out every single toy but he does a great job of putting them away. It takes forever but each item goes right back where it belongs.
Moving on to costumes. I bet the boys played with every single toy in the house this weekend.
David's new chair! As soon as George put it down, David grabbed a book and climbed in. No more tears over the glider.
