George's Spiderman Birthday

George turned 37 today! What better way to celebrate than with a Spiderman birthday party?!?! When I asked the boys a couple of weeks ago what we should do for Daddy's birthday, Drew was so excited to offer up a theme. "Mom! I've got it! Let's have a Spiderman birthday party! Daddy would LOVE that!!!" Who could say no? So, a Spiderman party it was. We wrapped his presents in a Spiderman bag, decorated a bit, and Spiderman himself even made an appearance. George was so sweet when he saw it all! I think he really did like it. Though I wonder if he'll do Cabbage Patch Kids or My Little Pony as payback. Judy came to visit this weekend and we also invited the Watson's and Campbell's to join us. Pizza and an ice cream cake completed the day! It really is starting to sound more like a 7th birthday party but I promise George requested pizza from his favorite place and a pistachio-flavored ice cream cake from Goodberry's. We added cupcakes in case the kids preferred those.

Happy birthday George! Hope you enjoyed the day as much as the boys enjoyed planning and preparing for it! Love you!!!

David finally got his turn as Spiderman.

Drew made some awesome decs!

I love that the Campbell's went with the theme! Notice the "37" taped over the card!

Bailey always gets in on the action when it's time to unwrap gifts. George got a new pizza stone for the grill from the Watson's!

Take 2 for David to help.

Busy Week!

The last week has been soooo busy! We had lots of fun but man are we tired! I had something four nights in a row. The week started with The Bachelor finale watch party at my house on Monday night followed by book club on Tuesday night. On Wednesday I went to Cristie's to watch Whitley while Cristie and Tom had a work thing and then Thursday night was bunco. Hate to complain since it was all fun stuff but I was exhausted on Friday. It was a gorgeous weekend and we took full advantage by playing outside a lot. Mom and Dad were here too which made it extra fun! Drew had his first spring soccer game. Let's hope he and his team improve or we're in for a rough season! Then on Sunday George and I ran the Tobacco Road 1/2 marathon. It was a little warm and humid but overall it was great! I signed up for my first full marathon so the long runs will have to continue! I'm excited and nervous but Richmond 2012 here I come! It's not till November thank goodness :) George and I took the boys to see The Lorax on Sunday afternoon. It was a good movie and such a fun family outing! During the movie I looked over at my cute little family and was so thankful.

Lunch at Jason's Deli! My personal favorite and thankfully the boys like it too.
David was super popular the other day while playing outside with six girls from the neighborhood. They were all doting on him, waiting in line to get him at the bottom of the slide or help him up the ladder. He even followed the girls inside my neighbors house to watch a movie. It was hysterical. I followed them too but after it was clear that I wasn't needed (or wanted), I went home and got some housework done. The girls brought him home a little while later, all of them trying to hold him on their hips (hee hee), and asked if he could play outside a bit more. Sure!

After being caught by the girls, he turned around to catch one of them coming down. Sweetie!

Batman and Robin helped me make chocolate covered strawberries for my Bachelor party. My neighborhood pals and I had such a fun time watching the finale. George helped me decorate with rose petals and tons of candles. It was a hit! We watch a little bit of the show but it's mostly an excuse to get together on a Monday night for wine and conversation.

Day Day bought this Batcave for the boys and it has been an endless hit!

Whitley is really into Rapunzel and she and the boys played it while we were there. Drew was Flynn Rider and David was the lizard. A little tip... Rapunzel the movie is actually titled Tangled. I didn't realize that while the kids were all repeating that they wanted to watch Rapunzel and Whitley was saying "I have it Aunt Stacy" while holding Tangled and I said, "No, that says Tangled." I felt so stupid because it actually took me a couple of minutes to figure out we were all talking about the same movie. And when I thought about it later, I did know that the was the name of the movie because my sister took Drew and Whitley to see it. Pathetic of me!

Tobacco Road 1/2 marathon.

Settled in for Drew's soccer game.

Pirate Pics

I wish these photos were better quality. I only had my phone on me when I decided to snap a few shots. They were having such a blast being pirates, a pastime that continues to be popular with the boys. I love how David imitates every pose he sees his big brother do. What cuties!

Too darn cute in the undies and Drew's size 12 boots!

One leg? I can do that!

Happy Happenings

Time has flown by these past few weeks. Here's some pictures from some fun things we've done...

Drew walks the plank at Marbles Children's Museum. Mom and Dad were here one day when I was off of work so the three of us took Whitley, Drew and David to Marbles. Unfortunately, we weren't the only ones with that idea - the place was packed! We still had fun though.
Day Day climbs to the top of the ship with Whitley and David.

Whitley hangs in the hammock.

Bathing the pups at the pet shop.

Boatin'!

Drew takes care of a baby in the ambulance.

CC and David take a ride in the fire truck.

Hula hoop time! You know CC was in on the action!

Drew and I had fun playing that game although we weren't very good.

Whitley and David wanted to be locked in a brick castle. After we knocked it down to rescue them we headed out - it had been a long, fun morning and we were all hungry!

So proud of this drawing Drew did! He took it to school for a Dr. Seuss themed show-n-tell. His teachers were so impressed!

Valentine cookies at Mae Mae's house! An annual favorite treat!

Silly picture of Drew. Check out the bottoms he's wearing. He had to go to the bathroom so bad when we got there that his pants got wet as he was pulling them down. Mae Mae offered him some of cousin Stephen's shorts and we rolled them and then clipped them. Guess kids are never too old to need back-up clothes.

CC rides a plasma car on a recent visit. David loved this!

Getting ready to race down the driveway :)

Fun night with friends. Our good friends, Kristen and Jim, have two boys (and an awesome theater room in their basement!) that our boys love to play with. We went over there last weekend to watch the Duke vs Carolina game. The boys had a ball and then got comfy to watch Puss and Boots and eat three bags of popcorn. Drew in the back left with Nathan on the right and the little guys in the front, David and Ben.

Cristie and Whitley came over to play last weekend. Whitley loved this Darth Vader costume! David was a darling little Spiderman with Wolverine claws and Drew the Green Lantern.
