Bye Bye Paci

Our week started off with taking Drew's pacifier away on Sunday. Boo hoo! He's growing up so fast! He was starting to like the paci more and more and with Baby Brother coming soon we figured it was time to nip it in the bud. Much to our surprise, it wasn't an issue at all! He typically only had it when sleeping so we nervously awaited nap time on Sunday. He asked for it of course and I explained that he was a big boy now and only babies needed pacis. He cried for 20 minutes or so but fell asleep pretty easily considering. George and I sat outside of his room feeling terrible about the situation but got a laugh when we heard Drew say "I need my blue paci in my mouth!" It just confirmed the fact that he's getting too old for one. We wondered what nighttime would bring but surprisingly he didn't even mention the paci! We were shocked! The week has gone by and Drew has only mentioned the paci two or three times but he hasn't cried or made a fuss about it. I guess it's over! We are thrilled to mark that task off of the list and even more thrilled that it didn't cause too many tears from our sweet boy!

The rest of the week has flown by. Drew and I went to the pool two days and caught up on our errands as well. We did some shopping for Drew's friend Andrea's birthday party. Drew is really into birthdays and birthday parties and couldn't wait to shop for her. When we got to the store and I asked Drew what he wanted to get Andrea he cheerfully replied, "Two dinos!!!" He really thought that was the best gift she could receive! I was able to talk him into some Little Mermaid items instead (that's what she's into) but he didn't seem to get it. He couldn't see the fun in them and thought the blue hair on one of the dolls was just plain strange! Here's a couple of pictures from this week...

Drew is ready for the pool! He put the fishy raft around his waist and took it everywhere with him until we left. Best $3.99 I've spent at Target in a long time! He floated in the raft at the pool for hours, making it much easier to watch him.
Drew had a hat on and then found a hat of George's and put it on too. I asked him what was on his head and he looked at me like it was a silly question and replied, "Two hats!"

Monkeying around with Daddy. He wears hats so much now! He associates them with sports and since he's obsessed with sports he wants to wear them constantly. This one is his "Mike the Tiger hat." I need to get him one that actually has Mike the Tiger on it, he would lose his mind!
