Crazy Corn Maze!

Drew, David and I went to a local corn maze today with some friends for tons of fun! They had hayrides, pumpkins, corn shooters, a corn box, hay jump, pipe slide, a wild tractor train ride and of course a corn maze. Drew had a blast and we all came home exhausted!
David being so sweet this morning.

The kids scope out all of the fun stuff while Sharma and I pay.

Getting ready to enter the corn maze.
The boys and I! Excuse my dirty and greasy hair. I was getting ready to jump in the shower after working out when Sharma called to see if wanted to go to the corn maze. We jumped in the car and headed out and I didn't see my hair until uploading the pictures. Gross.
Drew and Blake pick a pumpkin.
The wild ride! This was taken before I asked Sharma to ride with Drew. It's a good thing I did. I'm pretty sure he would have flown out otherwise. There were no seat belts and I swear the driver had to be drinking! He raced around the property at high speeds and made tight circles in huge mounds of mud. We came home filthy!
Getting ready to ride!
On the tractor hayride.

Drew in the corn box. This was his favorite thing which surprised me because he's not that wild about sandboxes. He screamed "I want to play in the corn box" all the way home after I was finally able to tear him away from it and put him in the car.

Back on the ride and this time I took a turn! I screamed the entire time and held on to Drew for dear life. He kept turning around and laughing at me saying, "It's so fun Mommy! This tractor goes sooooooooo fast!!!"
We survived!

Week 7!

Another week comes and goes and sweet David is 7 weeks old already! It's going by way too fast. George traveled for work three days this week so things were a tad hectic around here. Everything went well but I realized exactly how much I rely on George's help in the evening with the boys. It didn't help that Drew had a nasty cold so wasn't really himself nor did he sleep very well. We were all so happy to see George get back on Friday that we took a stroll and met him at the front of the neighborhood! My sweet Aunt Mary came over Thursday night and brought a yummy dinner. It was great to visit with her and I really appreciated her help as well. It's been a non-eventful weekend for us. The weather was yukky so we mostly stayed at home. We did venture out to meet some friends for lunch today and watch football.

My sweet baby boy!
Both boys snuggle up with Mae Mae!

David rests on Mae Mae's chest.
Mae Mae reads Drew books before bedtime.

Drew shows David the "Barnyard Friends," one of Drew's favorite baby toys. Drew loves to show toys to David and it's so sweet to hear Drew talk about each toy and what it does.

Precious smile!

Drew poses with the girls from across the street. Two of them are twins and the older sister was born only ten months prior! They are the sweetest girls and they are great soccer players. Drew calls them his "girlfriends" and is always so proud when they come over to play with him!

David's First Tailgating Experience!

David is already a football fan! Of course you don't have much choice in this family. We went to UNC on Saturday morning to tailgate for the ECU/UNC game. We aren't crazy enough to take both boys to a game but we enjoyed tailgating with friends and being a part of the college experience for a few hours. Drew ran wild with a football and flirted with tons of pretty girls. David was sweet as can be and slept through most of the outing. The rest of our weekend was nice as well. Our friends Kevin, Sharon and Preston came over Friday night for pizza and the boys had a blast playing cars and dinosaurs. On Sunday the boys and I went to Cristie's to play with her and Whitley while George did the grocery shopping and yard work. We had a great time but unfortunately we were too busy to take any pictures! The time flew by entertaining the toddlers, keeping them from fussing over toys, feeding them and meeting all of David's needs. And I hate to admit that the brunt of the work fell on Cristie while I focused on David and pointed out any trouble brewing between the tots from my comfy spot on the couch. Sunday evening we took a nice family walk and enjoyed delicious steaks. I love when George does the grocery shopping, he always gets much tastier things than I do.

Drew waits on the steps for Preston to arrive on Friday evening. He always does this when he's expecting company. I have to make sure I don't tell him about visitors too far in advance or he'll sit on the steps all day waiting!
Drew and Preston take a break from playing to watch Monsters, Inc.

Drew in the minivan tailgate seats on Saturday. He was finally taking a break after running non-stop for a couple of hours.
David already loves pretty ladies :)

Drew and his friend Peter enjoy the nice weather by playing golf. The wind caught Drew's hair and gave him a little mohawk.

First Bath...Finally!

David's cord finally fell off so I was able to give him a real bath. I was beginning to wonder after 5 weeks if the cord was a permanent part of his belly. I asked his Pediatrician and he said he's only seen one case in 13 years where it didn't fall off so told me not to worry. The crazy thing is I have no idea where the cord stump is. It was attached the other day when I dressed David but when we got home from dropping Drew at school and running a few errands it was no where to be found. I can only assume it fell off, found it's way out of his clothes and is on the floor of Walmart somewhere. Pretty gross for whomever finds it! David really liked his first bath! He soaked in the suds for quite sometime while Drew showed him some bath toys and told him all about cleaning his "monster peter" and other parts. Here's a few pictures of my squeaky clean sweetie!

First bath!
Drew was in charge of the bath toys and lined them all up in a row for David to look out.

All clean!

Day Day and CC Visit!

My parents visited Thursday through Monday and we had a very nice weekend with them! We went to the pool, did lots of eating, shopped, and had lots of fun with the kids. David got tons of sweet kisses and Drew got tons of attention (and some new toys too!). They were here on Grandparents Day which was extra special!

Day Day, disguised as a big T-Rex, gives Drew a hug! This cute little find came from Aunt Cristie!

David loves laying on chests, especially Day Day's!

Drew's First Day of Preschool!

Drew started preschool this week and really enjoyed it! He has been super excited about it for a few weeks and got even more excited when his dinosaur backpack arrived on Monday. He carried it around all day and then woke up early on Tuesday morning and put it on first thing. His teachers are very nice and he warmed up to them pretty quickly. It didn't take him long to find the train table and dinosaur bin so he felt right at home in the classroom. I think it's going to be nice for him (and I!) to be in school two days a week. I know he will enjoy it!

Getting ready for school! This is where he told me he was going to "Walk down the sidewalk to get on the school bus." Oops, guess there was a little misunderstanding. He was under the impression that all kids ride the bus to school. Needless to say he was a tad disappointed when I loaded him in the minivan.
Dino backpack!! Drew is so proud of it!

My cutie!

Angel Visits and Me-Ma's Birthday

We had a busy labor day weekend. My best friend Angel came to visit to meet David! We were all so happy to see her! Drew fell in love with her during her visit in June so was thrilled to see her again! We didn't do much while she was here, just lots of hanging around the house and playing with the boys. I miss her so much but will see her in October at her wedding!!! On Monday Me-Ma came to visit and we celebrated her birthday! Happy Birthday!!
Angel reads Drew the book she brought him. She also brought adorable LSU t-shirts for the boys!

Playmat Fun!

David enjoys laying on his playmat these days. Drew seems to like it too as you will see in the photos. Every time he sees David on it he rushes over to join in the fun! Drew continues to be a wonderful big brother, we have been so proud of him! I took the boys to do some errands on Thursday and we used the double stroller (thanks CC and Day Day!) for the first time. Drew was thrilled to sit with David and didn't miss the chance to tell me what his baby brother needed every time he made a peep. David is changing so fast! He already weighs 9 lbs 15 oz as of today! He stays awake a lot more during the day and really studies our faces. We are having so much fun with him!
