Winter Wiggles

Our last session of Winter Wiggles was this week so I took the camera and got a few shots. The theme was fish so Drew did all kinds of sea creature activities including making a crab out of a coffee filter and construction paper, sorting sea shells by type, scooting through a blue tunnel (the sea) to collect fish and finally a puppet show featuring a dolphin and starfish. Drew really enjoyed Winter Wiggles and we'll both miss it. I know Drew will be asking about it so I may have to sign him up for another course.

The rest of our week flew by running tons of errands in preparation for our upcoming trip to Las Vegas. We did squeeze in a play group and a little outside play time in between rain storms. On Thursday night I watched Twilight with some friends from the neighborhood. We had a great time and enjoyed the movie and lots of yummy snacks! Friday night Aunt Mary babysat Drew and Whitley while Cristie, Tom, George and I went to dinner and a movie. Drew had a blast with his Aunt Mae Mae and woke up this morning ready to tell me all about it!

Drew and one of his classmates do their own puppet show.
Tapping his sticks. It's a song we did every week and he loved it.

The teacher asked them to use the ribbons and swim like fish. He was paying such close attention to her and the instructions!
The fish were jumping on the parachute. Drew was loving it!

More fun with the parachute.
Watching the puppet show.
Drew doing another puppet show for me after class. He never wants to leave when class is over but I found that if I ask him to help clean up and return everything to the teacher he leaves when we're done with no fussing. Shortly after this picture was taken he walked up to Ms. Rhonda, handed her the puppets, said "thank you" and walked right out. She always comments on how nice his manners are :)

Happy Birthday George!!!

George is 34 today! Happy birthday to a wonderful husband and Dad! Drew was really into George's birthday and even more into his cards and presents! Drew handed George one of his gifts and said "Daddy, open the shoes, open the shoes, here's the shoes!" Guess there weren't any surprises there! We celebrated with lunch at one of our favorite pizza places, just like last year! Then we had double fudge brownies for dessert. Yum, yum! If George enjoyed his birthday half as much as Drew did than it was a good one!
Drew opens George's cologne. He had it out of the bag before George could even glance at the shoes he had just opened. It all went by very quickly with Drew involved!
Drew rips into George's card.
Watching a basketball game on TV at New York Pizza.
"More big drink please" as Drew says.
Singing happy birthday and getting ready to dig into the brownies!

Basketball Fan!

We took Drew to an LSU basketball game in Greenboro, NC last week! They were playing Butler in round 1 of the of the NCAA tournament. As we expected, Drew was a super fan! He talked about the game all the way there and was thrilled to see that there was even more entertainment than just the game! He was enthralled with the mascot as well as the band, dance team, cheerleaders and scoreboard (where he thought they were playing a basketball movie)! He was so good during the game and George and I couldn't have been prouder! He definitely got the attention of the surrounding fans with his precious spirit and adorable voice! He cheered "Geaux Tigers Roar!" over and over. We were all so happy to see Ward, our wonderful friend from Baton Rouge. He set us up with great seats as always! Thanks Ward! Since LSU won the game, Ward stayed in Greensboro through the weekend and came to our home Friday along with his coworker Kevin to spend the night. Bailey was so happy to see Ward! She greeted him with a tinkle just like the old days! Drew thought Ward was there as his playmate and kept directing him and Kevin to "Come on friends!" Drew has been quite bossy lately! Guess it's just another part of being a two year old.
Arriving at the arena. Drew was busy checking everything out and didn't want to waste time smiling for the camera.
Watching the game and snacking! Popcorn was just the beginning! We also had a hotdog, pretzel and ice cream.

He wanted to look like Daddy.
Drew's still watching the game!
Both babies give Ward tons of attention when he arrives at our house.
Tickles from Ward.

Dinosaur Obsession

A new obsession popped out of nowhere! Drew is into dinos in a big way! I'm not sure where he got started on them because we don't have any figurines but I guess like cars and trucks, dinosaurs are pretty popular amongst the boys. He is really fun about them and likes to eat like a dinosaur, hide like a dinosaur, take a nap like a dinosaur, walk like a dinosaur, you get my drift. George and I have been using it to our advantage and ask Drew to put his pacifier away like a dinosaur, take a big bite like a dinosaur and lay still for a diaper change like a dinosaur. In Drew's mind, dinosaurs don't do anything different from a bear or tiger and he mostly just walks around roaring with his hands in the claw position. It works for me! What Drew is into, I'm into (as you can see below!)...
Here we are sneaking up on Daddy "like a dinosaur." Drew's idea of course.
Tickling Mommy "like a dinosaur."

Pulling his new bag, you guessed it... "like a dinosaur!" We are flying to Vegas in a couple of weeks and Drew loves to haul luggage so I got him his very own backback on wheels. May as well have him lug his own stuff through the terminal!

Drew is Back in Action!

After a full week of being sick with a terrible stomach virus, Drew finally started feeling better at the end of the week. It was just in time for our visit from my good friend Jodi and her son Rupert from Charlotte! We had a great time chatting and playing with the boys. She is due with another baby in August as well so we had lots of fun things to talk about!
It has been the rainiest weekend but we've had some good times indoors. Drew is so happy to be feeling better and we've been playing non-stop. He has cracked us up with his non-stop eating! He woke up Saturday morning begging for pizza. We held off until dinner and then ordered plenty! Drew has also had us giggling with some of his new favorite phrases. He loves to answer questions with a true response, not just a yes or no. His favorite is "I'm fine" and it's so adorable to hear! "Drew, do you need a diaper change?" "No, I'm fine. No stinky." "Drew, do you want more to eat?" "No, I'm fine. I'm full." We've come so far since the grunting and whining at the fridge door and I'm thankful for that! The weather is supposed to get nice again this week so we're looking forward to a fun week!
Jodi, Rupert, Drew and I.
Drew having a blast in an empty bin! I was packing up clothes that he has outgrown and he took over the bin. It was so good to see him smiling and laughing after being so sick all week.

Peek-A-Boo!

Platty gets in on the fun!
And the rest of his stuffed animals.

We're Having A...!!!

We got some big news this week... We are expecting a baby BOY!!! I had an ultrasound and we weren't planning to find out the gender but after the technician told us that baby Davis looked great we got so excited that we couldn't help ourselves! It will be fun getting ready for his arrival and getting Drew used to the idea of a little brother. We are sooooo thrilled!!! I can just picture my boys being buddies and playing together and it brings tears to my eyes! We are so thrilled to become a family of four in August!
We also had a really fun weekend! My parents arrived last Thursday evening and we had a nice family dinner with them and the Watson's. Then Whitley spent the night and on Friday CC, Day Day, the babies and I went to the park and then to lunch. It was such a fun time! We all headed to Myrtle Beach Friday afternoon to enjoy the nice weather. We spent tons of time outside and even went to the beach. Mom and Dad left on Monday, it was too short of a trip!
Poor Drewby has been sick with a stomach virus this week but it on the way to recovery. I won't go into the details but I've done more loads of laundry this week than I usually do in two months. The only good news is that I've had tons of snuggle time with him! He just wants to cuddle on the couch and watch movies.
CC and the grand babies at the park. She and Day Day were exhausted by the time we left!
Dancing on tables! I think Drew got that move from me as I recall doing that a time or two in college. I totally forgot to pack pj's for him so he had to wear Whitley's. Mom brain combined with pregnancy brain has me forgetting lots of things lately.
Cutie!
Running on the beach, his favorite thing. He absolutely loves the beach! He talks about it all of the time!
Darling photo of Whitley!

Drew kissing his brother's ultrasound photo!

Drew checks out the pictures of Baby Boy Davis but he doesn't look impressed.

Hide and Seek!

We have had a few days of terrible weather. Two days of pouring rain and two days of snow! Not my idea of March! We did our best to fill the time indoors but ended up playing t-ball on the screened-in porch during a down pour and building a pitiful snowman when the snow came Monday. We enjoyed Judy's visit and were sad to see her go on Sunday. She and Drew had a great time playing "rescue," one of his favorite games. He hides animals, cars, and anything else he can find and then Diego and the fireman rescue them. The weather cleared up today and Drew and I went to Wiggles Wiggles and then Chick-Fil-A with Alison and her son Logan. My parents arrive tomorrow for a long weekend and we're excited about that! They've only been gone a couple of weeks but we miss them already!

Kisses for Grandma!

The world's most pitiful snowman! My neighbor Beth and I built it with the kids. Lucky for us the kids were tickled pink with it. It was way too cold to build another one.

Drew and I played many games of hide and seek to pass the time indoors. This is one of his hiding spots!

His favorite hiding spot!

Where's Drew? It's so funny to play games with him. When we play hide and seek he likes to tell me where to hide and then he leaves the room and comes back to find me where he left me like it was some huge mystery.
