David's Birthday Weekend

David had an awesome birthday week following his actual birthday. My parents needed to go to their place in Myrtle Beach for a couple of days and wanted David to join them. What a special treat for him...and me :) Cristie and Whitley joined them too and they all had a good trip. Drew had camp that week so he stayed behind and we did some fun things together. His favorite? Seeing Captain America! He absolutely loved it! We had the best time on our little date and haven't stopped talking about the movie since. The Myrtle Beach crew had a blast on their trip; they went to the beach both days and also did lots of playing at CC and Day Day's house. My sister has some great pictures on her blog. Check it out at http://www.whitleygrace.blogspot.com/ They returned from the beach on Saturday and then we celebrated David's birthday later that afternoon . We had a family party with CC, Day Day, Me-Ma, the Watson's, Gunderson's and Whitley's. It was great! We set up the water slide which David absolutely loves and that entertained the kids. Judy and I prepared a pretty yummy dinner if I do say so myself! Then we ended the party with cupcakes, ice cream and gifts. David had an Elmo cupcake while Drew and Whitley had Cookie Monster cupcakes. The party theme was originally Cookie Monster but David kept talking about Elmo so I changed his cupcake at the last minute. The fun continued on Sunday with a movie outing for CC, Me-Ma and I. We went to see The Help! LOVED it. George stayed home while David napped and Drew went shopping with Day Day to get all of his soccer gear - Drew starts "real" soccer soon! Then we all got together at the Watson's that evening for a BBQ and more fun. We had a great time playing and ate a delicious meal. It was a great family weekend! Happy 2nd birthday David! Thank you to CC, Day Day and Cristie for taking care of David in Myrtle Beach and showing him such a good time. He was spoiled with your love (and patience!) Thank you Judy for all of your help with the party! I enjoyed cooking with you :)

Sunday at the Watson's!

David is the king of messes.

We had a blast watching Day Day and the kids do a show. The kiddos got dressed up and then Day Day announced them one by one as they came through the porch to the "stage." Dad came up with lots of creative titles and spoke like a real announcer. The kids ate it up. Here's David raising his arms during his turn.

What a cute little Nemo. We left shortly after this picture was taken. A fun evening came to an end when David started ripping the costume from Whitley's hands, screaming "Me Nemo!!!!"

The kids thought they were famous after the show so were pleased to pose for pictures.

Drew was especially into it and asked everyone if they wanted to have their picture taken with him :)
