Random Summer Stuff

Most of my posts this summer have been from trips or other special occasions. Figured it was time for one of just some random stuff. We have had a really nice summer so far. We've stayed pretty busy with trips to the pool, play dates, story time at the library and also lots of playing at home. Here's some pictures from the past few weeks...

Like many parts of the country, we have had an incredibly hot summer. The kids were helping me water the plants when they started intentionally spraying themselves. Drew had the fun idea of getting umbrellas and making rain. Our neighbors Lauren and Andrea joined in on the fun!
George and I went out to lunch and bowling with three other couples two weekends ago. Here's the girls.

Sweet boys watching cartoons in our bed, a morning ritual this summer.

We have eaten tons of ice cream! The boys insisted on these colored cones.

David is ready to tailgate! Bring on Fall!

Drew did this picture for a National Night Out art contest. Our neighborhood had a pretty large event for NNO August 2nd. There was an art contest in order to gather pictures to display at a new Police substation nearby. Kids were only allowed to use one piece of white paper with markers or crayons and absolutely no adult help. Drew did a police monster truck with a police man. You can't see it here but there is another policeman driving the truck and two bad guys in the back. He even included 911 on the side of the truck. I was very proud of his work! If you have small kids, you know it's hard to get them to draw something completely from scratch. Way to go Drew!

We went to the mall with Drew's school friend, Hayden, and the Chick-Fil-A cow was there. This was big time fun for them!

David getting comfy at the mall.

David with more ice cream! He seems to make that face every time he has ice cream.

Getting ready for story time at the library.

The boys coloring at David's new table. CC and Day Day gave it to him for his birthday - he will be two tomorrow!
