Marbles Museum Visit

The boys and I had a fun-filled day! We spent hours at Marbles Kids Museum in Raleigh. Visiting the museum was on my summer to-do list but as the summer flew by I decided to wait a little longer and go once the elementary schools started so it wouldn't be so crowded. It worked out well as traditional school started today and the year round students weren't on a track-out break. We literally had the place to ourselves for the first part- we got there when they opened at 9am, not bad for this crowd :) Those kid places are usually destroyed by the time we arrive so it was neat to see the grocery store organized, the costumes folded and placed on shelves and the blocks and tools all in their appropriate bins. I have a ridiculous amount of pictures from our outing but since I had the camera with me I figured I should click away. Enjoy!

Drew makes an announcement from the bank armoured car in the Moneypalooza area.
Working at the pizza parlor.

"Me cook pizza."

Drew delivering his pizza with David anxiously waiting his turn.

Hockey time. It was fun having the rink to ourselves!

Yep, I played too. We were the only three people on the entire 2nd floor of the museum and the boys needed a goalie.

Not as easy as it looks! I almost sprained an ankle trying to stay balanced.

Drew looking like Daddy.

Tool bench with real tools! Seriously, do you see the sharp saw in the background? Don't know how I've missed this in the past but next time we go the Davis's will bypass the work bench station.

David found his way to the splash zone. At least there were some available smocks today.

There's always a train set at these museums and although almost every boy has trains at home, it remains a must-see!

David, pictured as a volunteer EMT, was obsessed with the flashing lights on this ambulance.

Drew never meets a stranger; he jumped right in with these girls when he found them in the ambulance and quickly dressed as the Doctor.

He jumped right in with these kids too, just assuming they would ring up and bag his groceries :)

At one point, David stayed put long enough for me to look up and this is what was painted on the wall. Very fitting!

We had lunch at Roly Poly after the museum. Here the boys are enjoying their "Sprites," codeword for anything that comes out of the fountain machine.

We wrapped up our fun day by sharing a snowcone!
